The Ultimate goal of JMT Biodiversity Policy is to align its business operations with fostering ecological balance and taking responsibility for biodiversity. The policy outlines clear objectives as follows:

  • Prevent Net Loss of Biodiversity Value (No Net Loss - NNL): Strive to ensure that business activities do not lead to a net loss in biodiversity value. Commit to No Net Deforestation: Dedicate efforts to protecting forested areas and preventing any net loss of forest cover.
  • Reduce Biodiversity Loss : Adhere to the principles of the Mitigation Hierarchy to minimize biodiversity loss, following these steps:

    Avoidance: Focus on reducing encroachment and minimizing impacts on critical natural areas.

    Avoidance: Implement processes that actively mitigate environmental damage.

    Reduction: Rehabilitate affected areas to their original state.

    Offset: Compensate for natural resource losses by providing equivalent resources in other areas when necessary.
